As the largest home and gift event of the season, the Birmingham Autumn Fair welcomed over 30,000 visitors this year – many of whom enjoyed the debut of Mustard’s new licensed brands and selection of wholesale gifts, corporate gifts and design-led present ideas for all the family.
Formerly known as the Novelty Gift Company, the 2010 Autumn Fair saw the rebranded Mustard showing off its new name and enjoying its biggest and best stand ever. The wholesale gift suppliers moved from Hall 5 (toys and gifts) to a completely new location in Hall 3 (design led gifts), which proved to be an exciting change.
The show welcomed a large contingent of overseas buyers, with decision makes from 76 countries browsing the wares on offer. The Mustard stand showcased the firm’s new licensed brands including gifts from Jelly Belly and Rocky, both of which proved popular with show visitors.
Reuben Utudjian from Mustard said, “Many new retailers found it impossible to resist our giant Jelly Bean shaped cushions and money jars, not to mention the interest in our new Rocky boxing glove style oven gloves which were a knockout for heavyweight barbecue champions!“
“Many of our existing ranges also caused a stir such as Morph and Marmite and we found many new retailers were keen to give them a try. Particular popular was our Marmite Toast Stamp from our Marmite gifts range.”
There was something for everyone on the eye catching Mustard stand, with colourful, quirky and cheeky gifts and gadgets proving irresistible to passers by.
In addition to existing favourites, the wholesale gadgets supplier also chose the Autumn Fair to debut sneak previews of new products recently added to the forthcoming Spring 2011 line. These included Table Salt – table football shaped salt and pepper shakers- and Bake a Brick, a silicon mould in the shape of a London Brick, ideal for baking bread, cakes or perfect as a jelly mould!
